Tool 1.1 Mapping of National Vision, Goals and Plans
1. Collection of Information
To map National Vision, Goals and Plans you will need information regarding the following subjects:
National Vision National Development Priorities Macroeconomic situation, projected goals and plans Present situation, goals and plans of sectors that are major contributors to national economic growth Present situation and projected goals and plans of labor force and employment Present situation and projected goals and plans regarding income distribution Educational profile of the population Gender related equity issues in terms of earned income per capita, unemployment ration, and educational attainment; projected goals and plans to redress inequities.

There are two complementary ways to collect the necessary information:
Collect documentation that contains the relevant information.
Primary documents exampes: legislation, national plans, economic reports and studies
Secondary documents examples: development program documents prepared for international agencies, reports of the U.N. and its agencies, and statistics reports.

Seek input from specialists – individuals or institutions - in respective subjects. You may download any of the forms provided in the next sections and send it to the specialist requesting that it be completed and sent back to you.
It is advisable to maintain a "bookshelf" of relevant documents for later reference. If any of the documents are in digital form, they may be uploaded and saved in the Team's Boookshelf . Non-digital documents may be scanned and uploaded.
2. Mapping of National Vision and Development Priorities
Extract from collected documents and expert inputs information related to national vision and priorities and summarize them in the following form.
There are two ways to fill out the form - online or offline. We provided an offline version of the form to make collecting the data easier. Please note that all data should be entered into the web-based form for storage in the Filing Cabinet.
However, if you wish to upload the completed Print Form document to the Filing Cabinet:
Download the print form onto your hard drive, complete and save;
Go to the Filing Cabinet and select "Upload documents for Tool …"
If you wish to replace a file, delete the old file first, and then upload the new version.
If you wish to have multiple versions of the same file, give each file a unique name, and follow the above process.
3. Mapping of Development Goals and Plans
Extract from collected documents and expert input information related to development goals and plans and summarize them in the following form. The questions included are only to serve as guidelines but should not limit the extent of the summary. It is recommended that quantitative descriptors and indicators are used whenever possible.

4. Mapping of Educational Profile of the Population
To construct a composite picture of educational attainment of the population at large, complete the next template with information derived from collected documentation and/or expert input. When you complete the template you will be able to see a pie chart.

5. Mapping of Gender-Related Development Plans
There is mounting concern at international and national levels with the degree to which development priorities and plans address gender-related equity issues. This concern is justified both in human as in economic terms, as women constitute half of the population.
Extract from collected documents and expert input, information related the present situation, projected goals and proposed plans to achieve these goals, and summarize in the following form.
Some of the information you submit will appear in graphic form.

These files are saved in the Country's Filing Cabinet. They may be accessed anytime from the Filing Cabinet or from the above list by clicking on the specific file.
If any documents have been uploaded to the Team Bookshelf, they may be accessed at anytime.
